India Walker Receives Outstanding Graduate Award- Fall 2025

The Civil Engineering Department at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette is proud to announce its Outstanding Graduate of the Semester, India Walker.

India Walker is graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering, completing her degree in just three and a half years with a 3.70 GPA. A 2022 graduate of Acadiana High School, Walker’s interest in engineering began after attending Engineering and Technology Week hosted by the UL Lafayette College of Engineering, an experience that introduced her to civil engineering and set her academic path in motion.

During her undergraduate studies, Walker developed a strong interest in environmental engineering and its role in protecting both communities and natural resources. This led her to declare a concentration in Environmental Engineering and Water Resources, where she focused on sustainable infrastructure and environmental protection. In March, she passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Civil exam, a significant milestone that reflects her preparation for professional practice in the field.

Following graduation, Walker plans to begin her career in civil and environmental engineering while working toward earning her Professional Engineer license. Throughout her academic journey, she demonstrated a commitment to continuous learning and problem-solving, qualities essential to the engineering profession. She looks forward to contributing to projects that support sustainability and long-term infrastructure resilience.

Outside of her academic pursuits, Walker enjoys exploring the outdoors and spending time with her two dogs. As she moves into the next phase of her career, she does so with a strong academic foundation and a clear focus on making a positive impact through engineering.The Civil Engineering Department congratulates India Walker on this well-deserved recognition, celebrates her academic achievements, and wishes her continued success in all her future endeavors.
