Umama Rashid Lamiya Wins Best Poster Award at Louisiana Energy Research Symposium

Umama Rashid Lamiya was recognized with the Best Poster Award at the Louisiana Energy Research Symposium, hosted at Louisiana State University. The event brought together researchers, policymakers, and industry leaders from across the nation to explore advancements in carbon capture, energy sustainability, materials innovation, and digitalization in energy systems.

Lamiya’s award-winning poster, titled “Adsorption and Recovery of Tellurium from Aqueous Solution Using Calcined Mg–Al Layered Double Hydroxide,” showcased cutting-edge research on resource recovery and sustainable materials. Her work was presented alongside contributions from prominent universities and leading energy companies. A goal so noble as providing clean water to populated areas be surely be recognized and awarded; Lamiya's presentation was a great highlight of the day!
