Wed, 03/12/2025 - 12:13pmOur students in are no strangers to patterns—and specifically, our transportation engineers are seeing a pattern of excellence! several UL Lafayette Civil Engineering students were recognized for their outstanding academic achievements through scholarships awarded by the Deep South Section Institute of Transportation Engineers (DSITE) and the Gulf Region Intelligent Transportation Society (GRITS). The DSITE awarded ten Academic Scholarships to students from Mississippi and Louisiana, celebrating their outstanding academic performance and contributions to the field. Further highlighting the achievements of UL Lafayette’s Civil Engineering students, the Gulf Region Intelligent Transportation Society (GRITS) announced its 2024–2025 scholarship recipients. Among the 12 awardees, five graduate students from UL Lafayette’s Civil Engineering program were recognized. Notably, Farooq Azam Khanzada, Kelvin Terkper, and Nurul-Haq Mohammed achieved the rare distinction of earning both the DSITE and GRITS scholarships, demonstrating their exceptional academic and professional contributions to the field of transportation engineering. These scholarships reflect the continued dedication of UL Lafayette’s students to excellence in intelligent transportation and civil engineering.
