Civil Engineering Students Clean the Coast

Civil engineering students were invited to participate in a volunteering event at Rockefeller Wildlife Refuge organized by our American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) student chapter in cooperation with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF). This event served to introduce new students to the ASCE student chapter and to further understanding of our obligation to serve the public and environment as future civil engineers.

The kindness and willingness to support the event by Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, Langlinais Baking Company and Suire’s Grocery & Restaurant was a perfect display of the local culture and the Joie de Vivre that we all love here in South Louisiana. The generosity and hospitality of all the individuals who were involved in coordinating this event led to students having so much fun that ASCE is planning to do a similar event in the Spring of 2017.
