Land Survey

The Survey lab is used to instruct students on the fundamentals of surveying. Surveying is the art of measuring distances, angles, and positions on or near the surface of the earth. Surveying uses rigorous mathematical techniques to analyze field survey data. Data collected from a survey could include Topographic Surveys (natural and manmade surface features of an area), Route Surveys (layouts for highways), Property Surveys (determining existing and new property boundaries), and Global Positioning Systems (GPS) Surveys (determining position through the use of satellites).
