Soil serves as the foundation for every non-floating structure in the world. It is important to understand the properties of soil and its function in supporting structural systems like bridges, buildings, and roadways. Civil Engineering students are exposed to the many different types of experiments in the Geotechnical Laboratory, which give them the knowledge they need for foundation design.
